Thank you for taking the time to view a selection of my illustrations.

A little about me...

Having acquired a Grade 'F' at GCSE Art in Leicester, I moved to Cornwall. I then attended sixth form in Newquay where my intention was to re-take my GCSE in Art. I was told to forget about the GCSE and take the A-Level in one year instead. At the end of the year, I had passed with a 'C', and had enrolled at Falmouth School of Art and Design.
At Falmouth I studied OND Technical Illustration. I learned how to use airbrush, gouache paints and pen and ink amongst others. Upon completion of this course, I set off for Southampton.
At Southampton University I decided to study Graphic Design. I disliked every minute of it! I have always strived to become better at anything I have ever done and to 'stretch' myself, but this course was mundane. Luckily though, I was able to 'switch' courses just before Christmas and take on the challenge of HND Scientific Illustration.
Whilst gaining this qualification, I rediscovered my fondness for illustrating with Pen and Ink to convey my subject matter, usually wildlife. I also learned to paint with watercolours, which I try to do whenever time permits, but always found the most striking of images were created using ink.
Although Pen and Ink illustration is very time-consuming and requires an enormous amount of patience, I believe the end results are more than worth it - I hope you agree!

I still live in Cornwall after almost twenty years, and have two beautiful daughters.
